Previously Asked
- New Zealandisms! -- the newer releases have been working on this
- How does the acquisitions module work?
- training for staff when implemented
- fuzzy searching is way too fuzzy -- we want more of a "did you mean..." search -- this is being worked on internationally
- needs an explicit "start over" button -- where? on OPAC? from a patron's account?
- NO searching WorldCat, Google Scholar (too confusing), other bookstores. Maybe only from advanced search? --That can be taken out. -Rose Richard will make steps to turning this off.
Resolved
- Adults cannot be older than 99 (was only a default)
- Patron view too cluttered on OPAC/records not separated enough -- Jessamyn and our designer are taking care of this
- Slow speed on Richard's test catalog
- Forms for parameters (instead of the big pages, can we have a question-and-answer set up?) -- this is part of the 3.x release
- unfriendly subject browse
- Test version required confirmation of approval to check out each item barcode!
- how to make the tag cloud work -- if people want a tag cloud, we should use librarything; it is very resource intensive in Koha
- Test version required birth date for new patrons even though it didn't show in red as required. When you choose date by using calendar it lists the current or previous year and you have to reenter that field to correct the year by typing -- calendar resolved; in the system parameters, you can set up what fields are required
- What happens when a patron makes a purchase suggestion? Good language that says that the item might not be purchased --When a suggestion is placed, a libraian can view it, accept or decline it, and add a note as to why it is declined. The patron will see the status of the decision in his or her OPAC account. You can test it out by making a suggestion under your own OPAC account and then log into the staff interface and go to ACQUISITIONS > MANAGE SUGGESTIONS. -Rose
- Placing holds confusing (patrons have to sign themselves in?) -- can a patron be prompted? --If a patron tries to place a hold without being logged in, the page will automatically go to the account log in page by default. After logging in, the hold page will appear. -Rose
- What about Amazon covers -- where does the link to Amazon take place? what does it look like with the covers turned off -- is there still a no image available picture? Can we look into the company you purchase the covers from? Richard has changed the covers to come from Google Book Search instead. It takes three clicks to get to Google Book Search. --With the Amazon covers, from the main search result page clicking on the cover will bring you to the record, from the record, clicking on the cover will bring you to Amazons "Search Inside" page. -Rose
- quick search feature/widget that libraries can put on their homepage --Already done, it's a simple search form - you can check out ours on our library website: www.carpentercarse.org
- Subject search is AWFUL and nowhere is listed a "keyword" search option --Try going to "Advanced Search" -Rose
- Allows an individual to place more than one hold on the same item (I discovered this by mistake when I tried it again after receiving an error message) --This seems to have been fixed - I just tried placing another hold on the same item and I got a message stating it is already on hold for me. -Rose
- Juvenile patron accounts require guarantor, but only options are father or mother (may have child whose school is responsible) --Other options can be added easily under "System Preferences" -Rose
