Getting Started on vokal's Koha install

Richard recommends using MarcEdit for preparing data for your materials after extracting it.
This is free software utility for editing MARC records that is available for download and there are two versions you might consider using. The most recent version (5.1) requires a relatively up-to-date Windows machine because it uses the .Net framework. The version that preceded this new one is 4.6 and should work on just about any Windows machine.

MarcEdit 5.1 is the latest and greatest version of MarcEdit. The MarcEdit 5x series requires the 2.0 version of the .NET framework.
MarcEdit 4.6.63 -- Download MarcEdit 4.6a
Added: Setup file updated as of Jan. 21, 2005. Update corrects a bug introduced in the 4.6 MARC-8 to UTF-8 conversion tool.
MarcEdit 4.6 is the latest and greatest version of MarcEdit. New additions were made to the script maker (you can now edit scripts that your created with the script maker), the delimited text translator (more robust) the global editing tools (particularly the Swap field function), the Z39.50 Client and the XSLT crosswalks distributed with the program. You will need CSVEdit in order to manipulate your patron records. Download version 1.4.8b and choose from the left pane the version with installers.
